From the Restaurant at Home Top Tips book (or it would be if such a thing existed):
Our head chef is a Rude Boy (into Ska and Reggae music) and he likes his toast two-tone, like his favourite record label. He likes it either just done or burnt.
For the perfect two-tone slice of toast, simply buy one of those cheap toasters which won't take a normal sized slice of bread. Turn it up to the highest setting and you'll end up with a slice of toast burnt at one end and just done at the end which sticks out of the toaster.
